Liebig - OXO
The Liebig collection is one of the largest chromolithographic collections, comprising 1871 different series, most of which contain 6 cards. These series were all issued between 1872 and 1975. Excluding the different languages, the original collection consists of approximately 11,500 cards. Some of these cards are very rare and highly sought after by various collectors.
What truly distinguishes the Liebig cards is the high quality of the chromolithographic prints and the perfection of the images. The series usually consist of 6, 12, or 18 cards, featuring product advertisements, menus, annotations, or additional commentary on the reverse side. The cards often depict scenes or themes such as landscapes, historical events, scientific discoveries, cultural and folkloric elements, and, of course, images of food and Liebig's meat extract. The refined details and vibrant colors are characteristic of these cards and set them apart from other collectible cards.
